PRESS RELEASE . Nashville, December 21, 2007

Pathfinder Therapeutics Inc. (PTI) announced today that its flagship technology has been approved by the FDA. “PTI is pleased to receive approval for SurgiSight Linasys™, the world’s first surgical navigation system designed specifically for abdominal surgery. We feel our technology will be an important tool for open liver surgery,” stated Paul MacDonald, PTI’s  President and CEO.

The SurgiSight Linasys™ (Liver Navigation System) is a device specifically designed to aid physicians during open liver procedures. The device is capable of mapping the current surgical position of tracked instruments onto preoperative, patient-specific MRI or CT medical images.  These images can then be used as a guide by the physician for more accurate localization of tumors and other surrounding anatomic structures during liver surgery. In short, the technology will function similar to a GPS system for liver surgery.

This approval will allow the company to focus on commercializing the technology in 2008 and provide skilled surgeons with a new tool in the fight against liver cancer and other medical conditions that affect the liver.
